Cardiff Universityis a comprehensive research university located in Cardiff, Wales, UK, and is a member of the GW4 Consortium, the Russell Group of Universities, and the International Collaborative Network for Applied Science and Technology Development.

Cardiff University has three colleges: College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Biomedical and Life Sciences, and College of Physical Sciences and Engineering. There are 26 departments in the three colleges.

Cardiff University is ranked 191st in the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings; 151st in the 2022 QS World University Rankings; 168th in the 2020 U.S. News World University Rankings; 151-200 in the 2020 Soft World University Academic Rankings; and 153rd in the 2021 CWUR World University Rankings.

The history of Wales dates back to 1000 AD, and the city was built in the Roman Empire more than 2000 years ago, and in 1536, Wales was officially merged with England to become part of the United Kingdom.
