The University of Huddersfield (HUD) is a public comprehensive university in the United Kingdom, with a history dating back to 1824 and its original foundation in 1841. Formally established as a university in 1992, it has a long tradition of offering quality courses geared towards vocational or job-seeking goals.

The University of Huddersfield scored highly in 2005, 2006, and mid-2007 surveys of university student satisfaction across the UK. The University has an international reputation for research in a wide range of fields, and its Centre for Precision Technology is recognized as the best precision technology research center in the UK and one of the top three in Europe and the world, with a worldwide reputation for its research in precision theory and precision technology. The University's new Acoustic Wave Research Laboratory for music students is the first of its kind in England. The University is further developing its research and related enterprises through several significant new investments, including the appointment of 20 new professors. The University has strong links with the business and arts community and is one of the top five providers of 'work-study alternate sandwich courses in the UK.

The University of Huddersfield is a founding member of the Northern Alliance and is located close to the city center of Huddersfield, UK, with around 30,000 students, including around 4,500 international students from over 130 countries.
