Group lead of On-line Automation Solutions Institute for Sustainability in Energy and Buildings (OASIS-EB)

On-line Automation Solutions Institute for Sustainability in Energy and Buildings (OASIS-EB), focuses on investigating intelligent regulation and control methods for building energy systems incorporating advanced technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data and artificial intelligence, provides online intelligent control solutions adapting to complex boundary conditions and various operation scenarios, while productize them.

OASIS-EB has obtained a series of innovative achievement, such as the most unfavorable thermal loop identification and thermal stability evaluation method, the time-delay response characteristic model of quality-quantity parameters in complex pipe network, the global energy efficiency trade-off method based on spatial and temporal distribution characteristics, the basic unit information model of insect intelligent building, the virtual in-situ calibration method of building energy system sensors, and the data-driven energy consumption prediction method based on reconstruction parameter system, which are suitable for variable flow air-conditioning system, environmental control system of transportation hub building, high efficient chiller plant, distributed energy system, etc. Above methods have been applied to Ice Cube of the Winter Olympic project, The Mixc and The Mixc One of China Resources Land Limited, Dalian Bay Cross-Harbour Tunnel, environmental control system of metro stations and smart campus, which have greatly improved the energy efficiency, operation and maintenance efficiency.

OASIS-EB currently has more than 10 members including post-doctoral, PhD and master students. It has trained 16 graduate students, while has undertaken more than 40 research projects from national and provincial levels, published more than 140 academic papers. In the future, OASIS-EB will closely focus on the development needs of new building power systems and PEDF buildings, with the aid of Insect Intelligent Buildings(I2B) technique, devote to the research of flexible self-organization, swarm intelligent regulation and control methods for low-carbon building energy system. OASIS-EB will strive to establish a prediction model of building energy demand with better applicability, to present global control algorithm of building energy system with better universality, to develop online intelligent control solutions and products with better energy-saving effect.
