The orientation meeting of majorsfor DLI freshmen was successfully held on October 18th, November 18th and November 30th respectively.The threemeetingswere given by Professor Tan Zhenquan,DLIDeputy Dean andAcademic LeadofChemistry,School of MSProfessor Yu Bo,DLIAcademic Leadof Mathematics and Associate Professor ZhouYihui,Director of the Department of Chemical Machinery and Safety of the School of Chemical Engineering. More than 290 new students of the class of 2022 and related teachers attended themeetings.

At theorientationmeeting, Tan Zhenquan introduced the general situation, professional connotation, curriculum system, talent training and future development of the school.Yu Bo first introduced the development and application of mathematics, emphasizing the important role of mathematics in the development of modern science, especially in the application of cross-disciplines. ZhouYihui gave a systematic introduction to the students from three perspectives: what is process industry and process equipment, the historical change ofprocess equipment and control engineering and the talent cultivation and future development of this major.

Through the professional introduction of each major, the students of the class of 2022 have a deeper understanding of the major characteristics, main learning content and future development direction of their major. Theyhave a clearer understanding of their university study plan and future development road. We believe that the new students ofthe classof2022 will take the this majorintroduction as the starting pointand show thestrugglingspirit ofDUTstudents!
